ON THE STANDARDIZATION OF DEFECTS DURING NON-DESTRUCTIVE TESTING
Non-destructive testing and technical diagnostics are one of the technologies for ensuring industrial safety of technical devices (TD). Depending on their results the decisions on the possibility of further operation of technical equipment are made. Decisions on further operation are taken if the parameters of detected defects do not exceed the rejection norms. These norms, as a rule, are very rigid and were adopted many decades ago. Excessive rigidity of norms, as a rule, gives the opposite effect. Currently, approaches have been developed to establish optimal rejection rates, which can positively affect the safety of facilities when they are implemented. The purpose of the work is to show and prove the necessity of using new approaches to establish rejection rates of various specifications, which will significantly improve the level of industrial safety.
