APPLICATION OF CONTINUOUS NON-DESTRUCTIVE TESTING OF MECHANICAL PROPERTIES OF GALVANIZED SHEET METAL PRODUCTS TO CONTROL THEIR QUALITY BY ADJUSTING STEEL ANNEALING MODES

The paper is devoted to the choice of the model structure for predicting the mechanical properties of galvanized sheet metal products. The model focuses on the possibility of product quality management in the flexible production of products for various purposes. Based on the review of works studying the effect of annealing on the mechanical properties of steel, we determined the influencing factors. Using data on laboratory tests of products at the MMK Metallurgy plant in Turkey for a significant period of time, based on stratification, we provide an assessment of the degree of influence of factors on the yield strength of DX51D steel. We consider the possibility of quality control of galvanized sheet metal products based on the development of a model for predicting the readings of the IMPOC (pulse magnetic flow controller) used for non-destructive continuous testing of the mechanical properties of the strip. For this purpose, a comparison of forecast models with structures based on various hypotheses regarding the effect of line speed and metal temperature on the dynamics of steel recrystallization is carried out. The comparison is made based on the results of adjusting the models using experimental data on monitoring the processing of 08Yu (08Ю) steel at continuous hot-dip galvanizing unit No. 1 of PJSC MMK using the IMPOC-1B. It is shown that the best forecast results are provided by the model variants that assume the combined effect of temperature and holding time in the operating temperature range. We show significant problems of setting up such models, caused by problems with production data, features of changing process parameters over time and possible substantially nonlinear influence of the factors.
