PERFIL EPIDEMIOLÓGICO DOS CASOS DE INFARTO AGUDO DO MIOCÁRDIO NO ESTADO DO TOCANTINS NO PERÍODO DE 3 ANOS.
Objectives: To determine the epidemiological profile of hospitalizations for acute myocardial infarction in the state of Tocantins between January 2022 and December 2024. To analyze the number of deaths and the mortality coefficient, following the same variables to determine the effectiveness of the management of this disease in the state. Methodology: This is a descriptive, cross-sectional and quantitative epidemiological study, whose data was collected from the Hospital Information System (SIH/SUS) on the number of hospitalizations, number of deaths and mortality coefficient, from January 2022 to December 2024. In addition to the epidemiological analysis, this study will analyze and compare the results obtained with those found in other nosocomies, for which a literature review was included, with the selection of relevant scientific articles published between 2020 and 2024. Results: The epidemiological profile of AMI hospitalizations in the state of Tocantins in the period between January 2022 and December 2024 is that there is a higher incidence of male patients, brown skin color/race and age group over 60 years. In terms of the number of deaths, the sex most affected is also male. The color/race with the highest incidence is also brown, and the age group with the most results was 60 years or older. The mortality coefficient for the entire period studied was 8.06. After analyzing the available data, it is clear that there is no differentiation between ST-elevation and non-ST-elevation AMIs. This differentiation would allow for a better analysis of the general situation faced by health professionals in urgent and emergency services, allowing for the development of a better standardized management of these cases.
