SERVIÇO SOCIAL E PENAS ALTERNATIVAS: UMA EXPERIÊNCIA DE ESTÁGIO NO CONTEXTO SOCIOJURÍDICO

This work aims to present the activities carried out by the Social Work intern in the socio-legal field, assigned to the Psychosocial Coordination Office of the Court of Justice of Amazonas. The intern provides support to the Psychosocial Support and Advisory Unit for the Court of Alternative Sentences and Measures (VEMEPA). Social Work, within this context, seeks to act in the defense of rights and the implementation of public policies within the justice system. Social workers face various challenges in their work with the penal system, with the main goal of ensuring the rights of individuals serving sentences through support actions, follow-up, and technical advisory services in the Court of Alternative Sentences and Measures. The role of Social Work in this institutional setting is highly significant, especially due to its contribution in bridging the justice system and social policies, aiming to promote the guarantee of rights and the strengthening of citizenship for individuals in situations of social vulnerability.
