INTRAVASCULAR ULTRASOUND ANGIOPLASTY IN THE COMPLEX ENDOVASCULAR TREATMENT OF OCCLUSIVE-STENOTIC LESIONS OF THE MAIN ARTERIES OF THE LOWER EXTREMITIES
The standard in the treatment of ischemia as a result of occlusive-stenotic lesions of the main arteries of the lower extremities is surgical treatment, and in the last few decades, X-ray endovascular treatment. Endovascular treatment is limited by the elasticity of the arterial wall in the area of surgery, which can lead to serious intraoperative complications such as rupture of the vessel or dissection of its wall, especially in patients with diabetes mellitus. Our studies have indicated the effectiveness of intravascular low-frequency high-intensity ultrasound effect on the arterial wall, which manifested itself in an increase in its elastic properties, which, in turn, should contribute to improving the results of treatment of patients with atherosclerosis and diabetes mellitus.
