Polydopamine as a molecularly imprinted polymer (MIP) for the detection of Bentazon
In this work, a new method based on the tunable electropolymerization of DA in the presence of Bentazon (BZ) is presented. BZ is an organophosphorus pesticide with a broad spectrum of insecticidal properties that is commonly used for insect control, making its control and determination interesting. In this context, it is used as a target molecule to fabricate a MIP on a glassy carbon electrode (GCE). The prepared sensor features cavities of the same size and stereochemical properties as the target molecule in the printed polymer matrix formed by the polydopamine (PDA). Consequently, the developed detection platform presents very interesting features such as high selectivity and high sensitivity (fM range) for the electrochemical determination of BZ and other potentials target molecules in real samples.
