Study of endocrine-disrupting effects of disposable biodegradable tableware and key migrants based on in vitro assays, mass spectrometry analysis, and in silico predictions
• 74 % of disposable biodegradable tableware showed endocrine-disrupting effects. • Microwave treatment and high-fat food contact increased hormonal activity. • PLA-based products pose higher endocrine risk than Starch/Fiber-based items. • TPP, DEHP, and EtP may be key contributors to the hormonal activity of products. • Integrated in vitro , MS, and in silico methods assess endocrine disruption of FCMs.
