Difficulties in differential diagnosis of pulmonary dissemination
Introduction. One of the complications of chronic kidney disease (CKD) is secondary hyperparathyroidism (SHPT). As kidney function declines, mineral and bone disorders occur. Due to the difficulty of removing calcium through renal excretion, excess calcium begins to be deposited in tissues and organs, including the lungs. This is a rare type of ectopic calcification — metastatic pulmonary calcification (MPC). Aim. To show the importance of vigilance in terms of complications of CKD. Results. The article discusses a clinical case of a complex variant of the course of metastatic pulmonary calcification. Conclusion. The clinical prognosis of MPC can be relatively favorable with early detection, determination of the cause and slowing of the progression of the disease
