The linguistic creation of St. John Bosco as a dweller in Heaven (based on the sung texts of the Salesian Family)

<ns3:p>The aim of this paper is to reconstruct the linguistic creation of St. John Bosco (1815-1888) as someone living eternally in the supernatural dimension, i.e. in Heaven. This study is a continuation of research reconstructing the linguistic image of St. John Bosco as a historical figure. The research material comprised a compilation of 45 sung texts published in a printed songbook and in online resources. The author has distinguished two communication patterns: the saint as recipient or as a protagonist of the text, and described selected linguistic images (reign, leadership, fatherhood, angelic care). Furthermore, the paper also presents the actions and attitudes attributed to the saint. The coclusion emphasises the conviction expressed in the texts of the saint’s continuous involvement in the worldly matters and recognises the formative and cultic nature of the songs.</ns3:p>
