Complexity Theoretical Research and Interaction Design Framework for Driving Scenarios
Based on the Man-Machine-Environment System Engineering (MMESE) theory, this paper dissects the complexity in driving scenarios into the cognitive complexity of drivers, system interface complexity, and environment complexity, constructs a complexity framework within driving scenarios, and explores the interplay among these different components. Additionally, this paper investigates drivers' perceptions of driving environment complexity, system interface complexity, and various driving information through a questionnaire survey. The results indicate that respondents generally believe that both environment complexity and system interface complexity contribute to an increase in their cognitive complexity, with dynamic traffic environments (such as pedestrians and vehicles) having the greatest impact on driver cognition. Furthermore, respondents consider navigation information and dynamic traffic information to be more important for driving. Based on these findings, this paper proposes an intelligent cockpit AR-HUD information design framework, providing a reference for interface design in future intelligent cockpit systems.
