Preface

The 2025 4th International Conference on Materials Engineering and Applied Mechanics (ICMEAAE 2025) was successfully held from March 7 to 9, 2025, in Xi’an, China, hosted by Northwestern Polytechnical University. As an esteemed platform for academic exchange, ICMEAAE 2025 brought together leading experts, researchers, and industry professionals to present and discuss the latest advances in materials science and applied mechanics. The conference underscored the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration in addressing contemporary engineering challenges and promoting technological progress. This year, ICMEAAE 2025 attracted about 150 participants from over 10 countries and regions, exceeding the number of submitted papers and reflecting the global interest in the conference’s themes. The conference received a large quantity of high-quality submissions, of which the excellent papers were accepted after rigorous peer review. The accepted papers are carefully organized, covering topics ranging from advanced materials synthesis and characterization to computational mechanics and structural optimization. The diversity of research contributions highlights the dynamic evolution of materials engineering and applied mechanics in response to modern industrial and scientific demands. A key highlight of ICMEAAE 2025 was the presence of five distinguished keynote speakers, each a leading scholar in their respective fields. Their thought-provoking presentations addressed critical issues in materials innovation, mechanical system resilience, and computational modeling, providing deep insights into emerging trends and future research directions.
