Optimization design of lightweight aircraft wheels based on finite element analysis
Abstract As an essential component of aircraft landing gear, the aircraft wheel ensures that the aircraft takes off and lands safely. With the suggested goal of high bearing capacity and light weight of aviation products, the weight of aircraft wheels has always been a challenging challenge to solve in aviation. Based on the progressive structural optimization theory, this paper seeks the optimal material distribution and topological configuration of the structure based on the aircraft wheel’s bearing form under combined radial and lateral load conditions and realizes the lightweight design of the wheel structure while meeting structural strength and stiffness requirements.
