PEDOT: PSS: MoS₂: Alq3 Nanocomposite Based Wideband Photodetector

The article presents a high response wideband photodetector utilizing a nanocomposite (NC) film as an active layer formed from Poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) polystyrene sulfonate (PEDOT: PSS), Tris(8-hydroxyquinoline) aluminum (III) (Alq3) and Molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) material. Abstract

The article presents a high response wideband photodetector utilizing a nanocomposite (NC) film as an active layer formed from Poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) polystyrene sulfonate (PEDOT: PSS), Tris(8-hydroxyquinoline) aluminum (III) (Alq3) and Molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) material. After the deposition of NC film over ITO coated PET based flexible substrate, aluminum electrodes were created in a thermal evaporation chamber. A broad photo response with a high responsivity Rs</i>(A/W) of 1.86 A/W, 23.5 A/W, and 39.2A/W at 300nm (UV), 750nm (visible) and 1550nm (NIR) wavelengths is observed for ITO/PEDOT: PSS:MoS2:Alq3/Al based photodetector at -1V bias. The suggested ternary organic-inorganic nanocomposite exhibits promising characteristics for use in optoelectronics.
