Stakeholders Assessment on the School Climate of Secondary Schools in the Province of Apayao, Philippines
The researcher aimed to evaluate the assessment of school climate in Lower Secondary Schools in Apayao Philippines, focusing on key elements such as achievement motivation, collaborative decision-making, equity and fairness, and school safety and discipline. Through a descriptive-comparative research design, assessments of parents, teachers, and learners are explored to provide a holistic understanding of the educational environment. Utilizing the adopted Tennessee School Climate Survey as the primary data collection instrument, the study encompasses four school districts within Lower Apayao, chosen for their representativeness of the educational landscape in the region. Employing cluster sampling procedures ensures a comprehensive representation of stakeholders, including students, parents, and teachers. Data collection is facilitated through paper-based surveys, with responses analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics, including ANOVA. The findings reveal distinct assessments among stakeholders, highlighting significant differences in areas such as safety and discipline. These insights suggest targeted interventions to address identified challenges and foster a positive school climate conducive to quality education. Recommendations for future research include strengthening school rules, recognizing and celebrating academic and extracurricular achievements regularly, involving students, parents, and teachers in decision-making, providing and ongoing training for staff to address biases in teaching and discipline, and establishing anonymous reporting systems for safety and discipline.
