Implementation, Compliance, and LGU Support on Risk Reduction Program of Schools
Schools in Abulug, a coastal town in Cagayan province, often face floods. Classes are suspended during heavy rain or typhoons because these events threaten safety and disrupt learning. This study ventured to investigate the relationship between the level of support from LGU and the level of implementation and compliance of schools in Abulug on risk reduction programs. The researcher utilized a descriptive-correlational design for an in-depth analysis of the relationships in the level of compliance, implementation among schools to risk reduction programs, and level of support from LGU. Weighted mean and Spearman Product Moment Correlation Coefficient were the statistical tools used. Schools in Abulug have achieved partial implementation and compliance with risk reduction programs, with weighted means of 2.73 and 2.74, respectively. Moreover, the study’s findings hold significant implications. It was discovered that an LGU partial support mechanism exists for schools’ risk reduction program implementations and compliance. This finding underscores the importance of LGU support in enhancing schools’ implementation and compliance levels. A positive correlation was also observed between the level of implementation, compliance, and LGU support, further emphasizing the crucial role of LGUs in this context. The partial implementation and compliance with risk reduction programs in schools can be attributed to the support given by LGU.
