Micro-transfer printable SNSPDs to enable versatile applications on divers quantum photonic platforms
Micro transfer printing (uTP) allows for the co-integration of different building blocks from mutliple substrates onto one common carrier device, the possibility of pre-testing allows make use of the good devices only approach and thus enables high yields. Our work focuses on fabricating transferrable devices containing waveguide-integrated superconducting nanowire single-photon detectors (SNSPDs), known for their superior performance in optical quantum computing and quantum key distribution. Transferring SNSPDs enables on-demand positioning of detectors and circumvents fabrication limitations that might affect the quality of the superconducting film.
