Ultrafast dynamics in nanoscale matter using compact high-harmonic source at ELI Beamlines facility

The MAC end-station at the ELI Beamlines facility (operated within the Extreme Light Infrastructure ERIC) is a multipurpose station, employing high-harmonic source for time-resolved investigations in matter. We will present results of the user programme at MAC, focusing mainly on interatomic Coulombic decay (ICD) in helium nanodroplets. ICD is a non-local process, where an excited atom decays and the released energy is transferred to the neighbour atom. We will show that ICD can be induced in nanodroplets under different conditions and can evolve on sub-picosecond or nanosecond timescale. We will present time-resolved photoelectron spectra, fluorescence measurements and possibilities of 3D ion imaging.
