The influence of stereotypes about a language on minority languages (on the example of the Sorbian languages)
<ns3:p>The following article adresses the influence of other Slavic languages on the codification of the Sorbian languages and the arising problems. The author shows that some grammar rules of the written language which emerged in the 19th century do not correspond to the actual spoken language. In particular this concerns the aspiration of plosives p, t, k. In this regard the author is citing interesting results of acoustic research of the Upper Sorbian language which have been an impuls for a current similar research project for the Lower Sorbian language using material from native speakers in the scope of the author‘s doctoral thesis.</ns3:p>
