„May the deep forest forever rustle for him...” Linguistic form of obituaries in hunting press (2019-2023)

<ns3:p>The article presents the results of research focused on 346 obituaries published in the monthly magazine „Łowiec Polski” (Polish Hunter). The aim of the analysis was to identify, describe, and analyze formulations that distinguish the examined texts from those published in media targeted at a broader audience. As a result, it was demonstrated that these obituaries are characterized, on the one hand, by the presence of conventional phrases and expressions such as „with deep regret”, „plunged into sadness” etc., and on the other hand, by the use of sociolect vocabulary and formulations referring to hunting customs, reflecting values cherished by this community.</ns3:p>
