UJI EFEKTIVITAS EKSTRAK ETANOL TANAMAN SIRIH CINA (Peperomia pellucida L. Kunth) SEBAGAI ANTIHIPERGLIKEMIA PADA MENCIT (Mus musculus L.) YANG DIINDUKSI GLUKOSA
Hyperglycemia is a medical condition in the form of increased blood glucose levels exceeding normal limits and if left unchecked can cause diabetes mellitus. Based on the empirical experience of the community, Chinese betel is a medicinal plant and is believed to be used to reduce blood glucose levels. The purpose of this study is are to determine the effectiveness of ethanol extract of Chinese betel (Peperomia pellucida L. Kunth) and the right dose to reduce blood glucose levels. A total of 20 mice are divided into 4 groups randomly, namely group I as a control treated with 20% glucose, group II as a positive control is given glibenclamide solution at a dose of 0.65 mg / kg BW, group III is treat with Chinese betel ethanol extract at a dose of 500 mg / kg BW, group IV is treat with Chinese betel ethanol extract at a dose of 750 mg / kg BW. Measurement of blood glucose levels of mice is done before treatment, after being given glucose (minute 0), after treatment minutes 60 and 120. The results of this study indicate that the ethanol extract of Chinese betel has the potential to reduce blood glucose levels and the effective dose is 750 mg/kg BW because it can reduce blood glucose levels 32.60%
