ICE PROTECTED THE ARCTIC OCEAN BASIN FROM FILLING WITH SEDIMENT
The concept of the origin and development of the Arctic Ocean basin is presented within the framework of an original speculative hypothesis of the origin and development of the Earth as a planet. An extensive sheet of glaciation (more powerful than the modern Antarctic shield) did not allow sedimentary material to fill the depression of the Arctic Ocean, which arose at the beginning of the Paleozoic and remained throughout the subsequent time.
