Operation of two superconducting wigglers at SAGA Light Source

Abstract The SAGA Light Source (SAGA-LS) is a compact 1.4 GeV synchrotron radiation facility located in Tosu, Japan. The storage ring in this facility consists of a double-bend lattice having a circumference of 75.6 m. Since the SAGA-LS became available to users in 2006, the facility has provided photon beams over a wide spectral range from vacuum ultraviolet to hard X-rays to both industry and academia. A unique feature of the SAGA-LS is the routine operation of two superconducting wigglers (SCWs). These devices were installed in 2010 and 2016 and have increased the upper limit of the available wavelength range of the SAGA-LS to 40 keV. Since installation, the SCWs have exhibited stable operation with a high degree of availability.
