Application of micro-arc oxidation nano-ceramic coatings for radiation heat dissipation in high-power electronic products

Abstract Ensuring electronic products’ continuous and reliable operation in extreme aerospace environments is a significant challenge. The substantial heat generated by the constant operation of IGBT power devices inside electronic products significantly affects their service life. To address the heat dissipation issue of high-power electronic products, this study utilizes micro-arc oxidation (MAO) technology to grow high-emissivity nano-ceramic coatings on an aluminum substrate. The effects of the MAO process on coating thickness, spectral emissivity, deformation of the electronic product casing, and radiation cooling performance are investigated. The optimal process parameters are determined, and a preparation scheme for high-radiation heat dissipation coatings is established to achieve enhanced radiation cooling of aluminum alloy casings in electronic products. Ultimately, the goal is to reduce the junction temperature of the power module’s internal chips.

The optimal process parameters are determined, and a preparation scheme for high-radiation heat dissipation coatings is established to achieve enhanced radiation cooling of aluminum alloy casings in electronic products. Ultimately, the goal is to reduce the junction temperature of the power module’s internal chips.
