Two-step Uni-puck identification using RFID in macromolecular crystallography beamlines at the Photon Factory
Abstract To identify a large number of samples and reliably perform fully automated experiments, sample identification systems using 2D barcodes have been implemented in many sample exchange systems at the macromolecular crystallography beamlines. The authors are developing an RFID-based sample identification system to avoid reading errors caused by frost problems and to reduce reading time. To achieve a more stable system, we propose a two-step Uni-puck identification system and have fabricated a prototype of each system and confirmed that the system can identify the Uni-puck without any problems.
