Finite element simulation and experimental study of underwater low-frequency fluid sound source

Abstract Long-distance submarine detection currently relies on underwater low-frequency acoustic detection, which determines the submarine’s location and operational status by detecting the low-frequency acoustic signals generated during submarine operations. To improve the testing level of sonar equipment, a target simulation device capable of simulating the low-frequency acoustic wave radiation characteristics of submarines has been developed based on the fluid sound generation method. Correlated simulations of underwater low-frequency signal generation were conducted using COMSOL software. By controlling factors such as the blade size, number of blades, motor speed, and magnitude of the exciting force of the push-pull fluid sound source, the optimal simulation parameters for angles, speeds, number and size of blades, and material were obtained. Additionally, the power and pressure distribution of the target simulation device were also determined, providing theoretical support for the design of low-frequency fluid sound generation devices. Through experimental testing, the sound source achieved a good simulation effect of low-frequency acoustic characteristics.

Additionally, the power and pressure distribution of the target simulation device were also determined, providing theoretical support for the design of low-frequency fluid sound generation devices. Through experimental testing, the sound source achieved a good simulation effect of low-frequency acoustic characteristics.
