The Effect Using Extract Turmeric using Ethanol 96% on Native Chickens Growth Performance

Abstract This study determined to know the effect of turmeric extract using ethanol 96% on growth performance and carcass quality of native chickens in Indonesia. This study using Complete Random Design with 4 treatments and 5 replications. Each replication using 5 chickens. The treatments were: control (T0): without turmeric extract; T1: using 5% turmeric extract; T2: using 10% turmeric extract; T3: using 15% turmeric extract. The data obtained in current study were statistically using one way ANOVA. The result showed that using turmeric extract did not show any significant effect on growth performance and carcass quality of native chickens. It might be concluded that when native chickens given turmeric extract until 15% was not enough to improve poultry productivity.
