A simulation of Typhoon In-Fa (2021) using the coupled ocean- atmosphere-wave model COAWST
Abstract A simulation of Super Typhoon In-Fa (2021) was conducted using the COAWST coupled ocean-atmosphere-wave model to analyze the typhoon’s development and the interactions between the sea, atmosphere, and waves under typhoon conditions. Comparative analysis indicates that the model effectively simulates the typhoon’s evolution. Further examination reveals that oceanic conditions significantly influence the typhoon’s intensity. Additionally, the typhoon’s speed and wind intensity are critical factors affecting the degree of ocean feedback. The analysis also shows a rightward shift in sea surface temperature (SST) and current velocity under the typhoon’s influence.
