Abstract Following significant destruction of Kharkiv as a result of military actions from February 2022 to the present day, the restoration of the architectural heritage of the city has become a priority task. One of the important tasks in this context is the restoration of Art Nouveau architectural monuments - a style that had a significant impact on the architectural appearance of the city at the beginning of the 20th century. The purpose of this article is to study approaches to the restoration of Art Nouveau architectural monuments in Kharkiv after military actions, analyze the main problems and opportunities associated with restoration, and develop recommendations for the effective preservation of the architectural appearance of the city. Renovation also provides an opportunity to improve the general technical characteristics of the building [1]. Therefore, many countries have prioritised building renovation [2]. The scientific novelty of the study lies in the integrated approach to the restoration of Art Nouveau architectural monuments in Kharkiv in the context of post-war renovation. The article analyzes the historical, cultural and compositional context of Art Nouveau architecture in the city, specific problems of restoration in the conditions of loss of original materials and decorative elements. The practical value of the work lies in the development of recommendations for architects and restorers on the use of modern methods of restoration of Art Nouveau monuments. As a result of the study, the main directions of restoration of Art Nouveau monuments in Kharkiv were determined. The importance of introducing modern functional solutions without compromising the historical value of buildings is also emphasized.
