Study on disinfection effect on “five-in-one” air purification technology in an epidemic prevention isolated room
Abstract Since the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, isolation rooms have been widely utilized. Ensuring the environmental safety of these rooms is crucial to prevent cross-infection. While some literature explores effective methods for protecting indoor environments, such as filtration and ultraviolet (UV) disinfection, the limitations of using these methods individually are significant. However, there is limited research on the combined effects of multiple methods. This paper introduces the “five-in-one” air purification technology, which integrates a fresh air system, exhaust system, plasma air disinfection purifier, multifunctional air purifier, and graphene paint to achieve comprehensive disinfection of indoor pollutants in an isolation room. The disinfection effects of this technology on different particle sizes and natural environmental microorganisms were tested and studied in an actual isolation room. The results demonstrate that the air purification technology exhibits significant disinfection effects on natural environmental microorganisms, with a maximum disinfection efficiency of 82.14% within 60 minutes. The “five-in-one” air purification technology shows a clear disinfection effect on the environment of epidemic prevention isolation rooms. This paper aims to provide data support for the future construction of epidemic prevention isolation rooms.
