Studying the annular rigidness of the fiberglass-reinforced plastic product depending on their transversally isotropic texture

Abstract The purpose of this work is to study the annular rigidness of fiberglass-reinforced plastic product with different transversely isotropic structures obtained by oblique-layer longitudinal-&-transverse winding, to establish the influence of technological parameters of the winding process and the formation of the fiberglass structure on it, as well as to study its dependence on the annular modulus of elasticity during tension. The work establishes the optimal values of the ratio of the amount of filler placed in the transverse direction to the amount of filler placed in the longitudinal direction, as well as the content of the polymer compound and the degree of its hardening for obtaining fiberglass pipes by the method of oblique-layer longitudinal-&-transverse winding with maximum annular rigidness. The influence of the completeness of the chemical reaction of the hardening of the polymer compound and the method of its occurrence (in one stage of the technological process of hardening, or in two stages with the involvement of additional heat treatment) on the annular rigidness has been studied. The possibility of using the dependence of the annular rigidness on the modulus of elasticity, which is used for isotropic materials, also in the case of fiberglass products with different transversally isotropic structures, has been determined.
