Buildings and Structures Calculations for Air Shock Wave Effect from Conventional Weapons
Abstract The methodology for calculating buildings and structures under the impact of a shock air wave from conventional weapons is considered. The peculiarities of applying the method of direct integration of motion equations for calculating buildings and structures are examined. A classification of shock blast waves is provided. General approaches to determining dynamic loads on buildings and structures caused by shock air waves are presented. Additionally, the article discusses the main challenges faced by designers when calculating buildings using the direct integration method. Various formulas for determining blast pressure are presented, emphasizing the need to consider the negative phase of pressure diagrams. The results obtained using the proposed formulas are compared with the current standard, which is validated by dynamic calculations of a single-mass beam system. A graph of dynamism depending on the oscillation period for given blast loads with different pressure diagram shapes is constructed. Pressure diagrams for shock blast waves on the front, rear, side walls, and roof are presented. Proposals for assigning dynamic strengthening coefficients for concrete and reinforcement are provided. The procedure for calculating buildings and structures under the impact of shock blast waves using the method of direct integration of motion equations is described.
