First mirror stability at the MAX IV soft x-ray beamlines

Abstract Horizontal drift of the beam on the MAX IV soft x-ray beamlines was observed with a 1-2 hour settling time and strong dependence on the undulator power setting. A water cooled, suspended electrode was designed and is shown to reduce the horizontal beam drift on three MAX IV soft x-ray beamlines to acceptable operational levels.

Abstract

Abstract Horizontal drift of the beam on the MAX IV soft x-ray beamlines was observed with a 1-2 hour settling time and strong dependence on the undulator power setting. A water cooled, suspended electrode was designed and is shown to reduce the horizontal beam drift on three MAX IV soft x-ray beamlines to acceptable operational levels.
