Preface

Given the fact that information of all sorts about the ocean is the key element in the development of marine science and technology, this conference will be convened under the theme of new theories, new methods and new equipment in the frontier of Marine science and technology in this field. In order to implement the strategy of building China into a maritime power, promote innovation in China’s marine science and technology and strengthen the development of first-class disciplines in marine science, the 2024 International Conference on Frontiers of Ocean Science and Technology (ICFOST), sponsored by the College of Meteorology and Oceanography, National University of Defense Technology has been held in Changsha, China (Saint-Tropez Hotel Changsha) from December 20 to 22, 2024. The Organizing Committees have invited experts in Marine science, Marine technology, Marine engineering, Marine resource exploration and application, Marine equipment R&D and manufacturing, etc. for academic exchanges. The Conference includes discussions on topics such as Multi-scale ocean dynamic processes; Ocean Environmental Data Analysis and Safety Support; Research on Marine Instruments and Equipment; Ocean Detection Technology; Underwater Acoustics; Underwater Acoustics Signal Processing and so on with a view to promoting the common development of industries, universities and research institutes in the field of ocean science and technologies. It will be a golden opportunity for the students, researchers and engineers to interact among themselves to get better views on technical development and trends for the near future.
