Intelligent Optimization Of Gas Burner Operating Modes For Cement Drying Units
The paper considers a relevant scientific and applied task – optimization of the operating modes of a gas burner in a cement production drying unit. The operation of a gas burner significantly affects the efficiency of heat transfer, energy consumption and environmental characteristics of the drying process. A mathematical model is proposed that describes the relationship between fuel consumption, air, gate position, fan rotation speed, concentrations of harmful emissions and energy consumption of drives. The gradient descent method is used to search for optimal parameters. The developed model allows for multi-criteria optimization taking into account combustion efficiency, reduction of NOₓ and CO emissions, as well as minimization of energy consumption. Software implementation in the MATLAB environment allows you to visualize the optimization process and obtain optimal values of key technological parameters. The study confirmed the effectiveness of integrating the electromechanical model of the gate drive into the general burner model. The simulations show that properly configured modes allow increasing combustion efficiency to 96-98%, reducing nitrogen oxide emissions to <30 ppm and reducing energy consumption by 10-15%. The proposed approach is suitable for both new designs of drying units and for the modernization of existing systems. The results obtained demonstrate the high scientific and applied potential of using mathematical modeling and intelligent control methods in industrial heat generation systems.
