First record of Chinese pond Heron <i>Ardeola bacchus</i> (Bonaparte, 1855) from Uttarakhand, India

The present study reports the first-ever record of the Chinese Pond Heron Ardeola bacchus from Uttarakhand state. Earlier studies reported that the species is vagrant in India and has been observed in Rajasthan and a few other south Indian states recently.
