Notes on a mollusc collection from Gundichaghagi Falls, Eastern Ghats, India
To understand the distribution pattern, we sampled the malacofauna of the Gundichaghagi waterfall in Keonjhar district of Odisha in India. A total of 223 live and dead specimen shells were collected, belonging to 20 species (11 species of aquatic and nine species of land snails) comprising 17 genera and 10 families. The land snails Cryptozona semirugata (Ariophantidae) and Rhachistia bengalensis (Cerastidae) are recorded for the first time from the Odisha state. A detailed list of non-marine molluscs recorded from Gundichaghagi waterfall is presented here.
