Quevedo, anatomista de la verdad: «Visita y anotomía de la cabeza del Eminentísimo Cardenal Armando Richeleu»
This article explores different aspects concerning the anatomical interiority in the Visita y anotomía de la cabeza del Eminentísimo Cardenal Armando Richeleu, written by Francisco de Quevedo, paying attention to the topic of the hidden truth and its relationship with the anatomical science. This topic will be connected with other works by the author, giving a bigger picture of its use. The imaginary travel to Richelieu’s head as an approach to the human interior will be compared with the anatomical representation in the plates of authors such as Vesalius or Valverde de Hamusco, and the anatomical theatres. Therefore, the interior of the cardinal functions as a labyrinth where his truth can be lost between the concealment and disguise
