The Role of Work Life Balance in Mediating Transformational Leadership on Employee Engagemet
Employee engagement refers to the extent to which individuals enjoy their work, trust in it, and feel valued within their organization. This study aims to examine the mediating role of work-life balance in the relationship between transformational leadership and employee engagement. A quantitative correlational method was employed, involving a total of 191 employees working at PT. Pupuk Kujang Cikampek. Data were collected using three measurement scales: the Development Dimensions International (DDI) scale for employee engagement, the Global Transformational Leadership (GTL) scale, and the Work-Life Balance (WLB) scale. The findings revealed that work-life balance significantly mediates the effect of transformational leadership on employee engagement, accounting for 92.7% of the variance. In other words, transformational leadership—particularly when it supports work-life balance—should be considered a strategic focus for organizational policy aimed at enhancing employee engagement.
