Robotic vision correction: a new level of precision

Relevance Robotic vision correction is an innovative approach in ophthalmology, providing a high degree of personalization and adaptation to the characteristics of each patient. With the help of modern scanning technologies and robotic systems, surgeons can accurately take into account the structural features of the eye - from the curvature of the cornea to its thickness and optical aberrations [1-3]. Objective To analyze scientific studies on robotic vision correction and describe its effectiveness. Material and methods The PRISMA (Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses) methodology was used to prepare this review. As part of the search for information, PubMed, Scielo and Web of Science databases were analyzed for the past ten years. 13 studies were selected for a detailed analysis of their methodology and conclusions related to the comparison of robotic and traditional vision correction methods. Results One of the main advantages of robotic vision correction is its exceptional accuracy. Modern systems allow making incisions on the cornea with minimal deviation from the specified parameters. The safety of the procedure is also at a high level due to the automation of the process. During the operation, the robotic system controls every movement, minimizing the risk of intra- and postoperative complications [4, 5]. Conclusion Technological progress in the field of robotic vision correction has brought significant improvements in the accuracy, safety and stability of results. Studies confirm its high efficiency and the possibility of using it for various types of refractive errors. Key words: robotic surgery; vision correction
