Blind Channel Equalizer-Based Suppression of Interference from Non-Transmitting ONUs in Upstream Coherent PON

This work investigates the impact of narrowband interference from non-transmitting ONUs in coherent PON and proposes novel channel equalizer-based interference suppression. Experimental results demonstrate a 4 dB improvement of signal-to-interference-ratio margin compared to standard equalization.

Abstract

This work investigates the impact of narrowband interference from non-transmitting ONUs in coherent PON and proposes novel channel equalizer-based interference suppression. Experimental results demonstrate a 4 dB improvement of signal-to-interference-ratio margin compared to standard equalization.
