Electro-Optically Tuned Multi-Channel Interference Laser with Rear-Emission for Fast Wavelength Switching

Monolithic multi-channel interference widely-tunable lasers with an integrated rear-emission structure for fast wavelength switching have been developed. The laser demonstrates a tuning-range > 48 nm, output power > 40 mW, ~50% improvement in slope-efficiency and a wavelength switching-time < 100 ns.

Abstract

Monolithic multi-channel interference widely-tunable lasers with an integrated rear-emission structure for fast wavelength switching have been developed. The laser demonstrates a tuning-range > 48 nm, output power > 40 mW, ~50% improvement in slope-efficiency and a wavelength switching-time < 100 ns.
