Responsible production and consumption: A comparative analysis in developed and developing countries
The relevance of the study is determined by the search for the most appropriate way to resolve contradictions in the implementation of the model of responsible production and consumption in various country conditions. The study aims to conduct a comparative analysis of the implementation of the model of responsible production and consumption in developed and developing countries, and identify existing contradictions and search for ways to resolve them. The objectives of the study are to reveal the prerequisites for the development of a model of responsible production and consumption; to identify the specifics of its implementation in developed and developing countries, establishing existing contradictions; to form recommendations for coordinating the interests of developed and developing countries in terms of implementing the principles of responsible production and consumption. The research is implemented using the method of comparative analysis, the method of systematization, the method of economic analysis, the dialectical method, methods of analysis and synthesis, induction and deduction, a systematic approach and a logical method. The information base of the study is formed by materials from the World Bank, the United Nations, Statista, BBMG, GlobeScan, SustainAbility, and IEA companies. The comparative analysis made it possible to conclude that developed countries are more committed to the model of responsible production and consumption and that there are factors hindering the transition of developing countries to the implementation of the principles of sustainable development. The dialectical nature of the contradictions underlying the transition of various countries to the implementation of a model of responsible production and consumption, which form obstacles to achieving the goals of sustainable development of economic systems, is revealed. Recommendations are proposed to harmonize the interests of developed and developing countries in terms of implementing the principles of responsible production and consumption. It is proved that the resolution of existing economic, ideological and institutional contradictions in the implementation of this model in developed and developing countries is possible on a complementary basis.
