A Fuzzy-PI Kalman time synchronization for wireless local area network systems
High - precision time synchronization is critically important for applications in wireless local area networks (WLANs). In practical scenarios, time synchronization is sensitive to tempera-ture variations. Moreover, as the WLAN experiences fluctuations, the time synchronization exhibits low accuracy and poor robustness due to the severe jitter of the uncertain delays during the synchronization process. This paper establishes the time model and time skew model of the real-time system in WLANs, and proposes the Fuzzy-PI temperature compensation Kalman (Fuzzy-PI TCK) algorithm to track and compensate for the time synchronization errors. In scenarios where the WLAN endures high-bandwidth operations and long-distance data transmission, while simultaneously being plagued by multiple co-frequency interferences, and the temperature of the system undergoes fluctuations, the experimental results demonstrate that the time synchronization accuracy is better than $1 \mu$ s and remains stable. Furthermore, the parameters of the Kalman filter and PI controller can be adaptively adjusted online, demonstrating excellent adaptability to diverse operating conditions.
