Design of a Line Driver for High-Speed Power Line Communication Applications

In this design, a differential 12-V line driver suitable for HPLC applications is proposed using TSMC 0.18um BCD process. It drives a 50 Ω load with a -40-dBc distortion with an output swing of 75% of the power supply voltage. The performance and power dissipation are comparable to the best product on the market, while consuming an active area of 1.08*1.06 mm2.
