Research on estimation method for OFDM channel of power line carrier based on LR-LMMSE algorithm

Channel estimation methods for orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) systems are key technologies for performance optimization in communication systems, particularly in power line communication (PLC) environments where the channel has significant frequency selectivity and noise. This paper investigates a Low-Rank Linear Minimum Mean Square Error (LR-LMMSE) channel estimation algorithm aimed at reducing the computational complexity of traditional minimum mean square error (MMSE) and Linear Minimum Mean Square Error (LMMSE) algorithms, which are critical for efficient signal recovery in PLC systems. The proposed algorithm simplifies high-dimensional matrix operations into low-dimensional computations by performing low-rank decomposition on the channel correlation matrix, thereby significantly reducing computational complexity while maintaining robust estimation accuracy. Theoretical analyses and simulation outcomes indicate that the LR-LMMSE algorithm effectively balances computational complexity with estimation performance, making it a suitable solution for channel estimation in large-scale MIMO and high-dimensional OFDM systems, particularly in the context of PLC with high computational efficiency and reliability requirements.
