SREQ: A Structured Approach to Safety Requirements Modeling for ADS under ISO 26262
Automated Driving Systems (ADS) are safety-critical systems with components such as perception, planning and execution. As these systems become increasingly sophisticated, ensuring their safety in the design phase remains a crucial challenge. However, requirement modeling for ADS, particularly with a focus on safety, remains complex. This calls for a more refined requirement modeling methodology specifically designed for ADS. Thus, we propose SREQ, a structured approach to modeling safety requirements in ADS. Our approach integrates safety-related concepts from ISO 26262 with the requirement diagram from SysML. The feasibility of our approach has been validated through an overtaking scenario.
