Innovative Metasurface-Assisted Star-Coupled Microstrip Antenna Array for Next-Generation Wireless Systems

The 20×16 mm wearable patch antenna is constructed on a Rogger R03210 substrate that is 1.2 mm thick. This antenna is 5.8 GHZ frequency working antenna with high gain of 8.5 dB. By utilizing a polyimide substrate, the device possesses a significant degree of flexibility, which requires both mechanical stability of device components and benefits to the users comfort for wearable devices. The compact and lightweight design makes its embedding into wearable platforms quite easily, thereby, meeting one of the critical space and weight constraints without much trade-off in terms of efficiency. The antenna’s effective radiation characteristics reduce interference and provide reliable wireless connectivity, making it perfect for the latest wearable and IoT technologies. Moreover, the design is excellent for operating in different environments, which enhances the usage of on-body and off- body communication. In conclusion, this patch antenna, which can be worn as part of a wearable device, is a great and efficient way to add wireless communication capability to existing wearable devices, ensuring that these devices can all connect without loss of performance or wearability.
