Integrating Virtual Reality in Mechanism Education: Enhancing the Educational Experience

In response to the evolving demands of modern education, this study explores the integration of virtual reality (VR) in mechanism design courses, providing an immersive and interactive learning experience. VR helps students connect theory with practice by providing an interactive learning experience. The study introduces a VR-based methodology that utilizes SolidWorks, SimLab, and Mindesk to help students visualize and interact with mechanical components in a 3D space. The study shows a 23% grade increase and a 30.3% rise in student interest, highlighting VR's impact on engineering education. This paper proposes expanding this approach across various campuses to validate findings and assess its broader educational impact.
