Ecological Effects of Sex Ratio Regulation under Lotka-Volterra and Logestic Modeling
This paper focuses on the effects of sex ratio regulation on ecosystems based on Lotka-Volterra and Logestic modeling. First, the Logistic equation is used to describe the population growth under limited resources, and its growth rate decreases as the population approaches the maximum carrying capacity of the environment; the Lotka-Volterra equation is used to characterize the interactions among populations, and the differential equations are used to reflect the dynamics of the number of predators and the number of preys. Secondly, based on the Lotka-Volterra model, the Lotka-Volterra model was further extended to establish a competitive relationship equation to study the effects of competitive factors among species on population size; introduce an additional mortality term to correct the differential equation for species growth; and construct equations for the relationship between sex ratio and population growth rate, external resources, etc., to explore the mechanism of the change of sex ratio. Finally, by integrating these models, we simulated the changes of biomass of each species in ecosystems with different sex ratios, and quantitatively analyzed the stability of ecosystems by using Simpson’s Diversity Index and Alatalo’s Index, so as to reveal the relationship between the regulation of sex ratios and the stability of ecosystems.
