A Broadband Sleeve Dynamic Seawater Monopole Antenna for Marine Wireless Communication
This paper proposes a method to enhance the bandwidth of dynamic seawater monopole antennas by incorporating a metal sleeve. Based on the theory of sleeve antennas, this study analyzes the operational principles of dynamic sleeve seawater monopole antennas. Electromagnetic simulations conducted using FEKO software demonstrate that the addition of a sleeve can increase the antenna’s impedance bandwidth from $75 \%$ to $93 \%$. Experimental validation was performed in a saltwater pool setup, where network analyzer measurements confirmed the improvement in bandwidth due to the sleeve. The wideband sleeve dynamic seawater monopole antenna holds potential for future marine wireless communication applications.
